Vice President Sales
As part of a general expansion of the business, Opendesk is currently hiring a Vice President Sales to
lead its sales and business development efforts. This individual will join the President, Vice President Finance and Vice President Technology to form the key executive team.
As Vice President Sales the individual will have influence over the design and marketing of the product, as well as with helping establish the overall strategic vision of Opendesk.
Job Description
- Build a world-class sales team, including hiring, training, and nurturing an effective sales force
- Achieve the sales goals of the company by
- Having a deep understanding of the general market, specific customer needs, and the capabilities of the product
- Negotiating and closing strategic sales
- Creating and maintaining sales systems
- Planning and executing trade shows, sales missions, alliances etc.
- Participate in the concept, marketing and delivery of the product
- Assist in the forecasting and business planning of the product
- Assist in the evaluation of a project's/product's profitability
- Evaluate and suggest product features in light of sales potential
Critical Skills/Experiences
- Experience selling software, especially enterprise software, custom-developed software, Web-based software or ASP software
- Proven ability to meet revenue targets and quotas
- Experience managing sales teams and generating results
- Superb communicator (written and spoken) and presenter
- Excellent knowledge of software industry
- Experience negotiating strategic partnerships
Useful Skills/Experiences
- Experience as technology consultant or entrepreneur
- MBA or business degree in marketing

As part of a general expansion of the business, Opendesk is currently hiring a Vice President Technology to lead its technology vision and software development efforts. This individual will join the President, VP Finance and VP Sales to form the key executive team.
As Vice President Technology the individual will have influence over the design and engineering of the product, the long-term technology strategy, as well as helping establish the overall vision of Opendesk.
Job Description
- Build a world-class technical team by hiring, training, and nurturing technical talent
- Develop and realize the technical vision of the company
- Have a deep understanding of all relevant technologies and trends
- Create and maintain development standards, quality control, documentation
- Create and manage projects, timelines, deliverables
- Manage R&D and the development of new versions of the product
Participate in the concept, marketing and sales of the product by providing technical guidance for business development, sales, partnerships
- Executive duties: assist in all areas of the business: human resources, marketing, sales, operations
Critical Skills/Experiences
- Extensive software engineering experience
- Experience building and managing software development teams
- Experience implementing systems for development standards, quality control, version control, documentation, product specifications, etc.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, Internet standards, application servers, databases
- Encyclopedic knowledge of technologies
- Excellent communications and presentation skills
Useful Skills/Experiences
- Business skills, managerial skills (especially at executive level)
- Experience negotiating partnerships and integrating third-party technologies
- Experience with collaborative applications, ASP applications
